At Churcham Primary School, we are committed to ensuring every child can thrive, achieve and feel valued. Some children may need additional support at different points in their school journey. Our approach to SEND is rooted in early identification, strong partnerships with families, and high‑quality inclusive teaching.
We follow the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and work closely with Gloucestershire County Council to ensure our provision meets the needs of all learners.

Miss Daniels oversees SEND provision across the school, ensuring our practice is consistent with national guidance, the Local Offer, and our own school policies. She works closely with pupils, families, staff and external professionals to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time.
We support children with needs in the following broad areas:
Communication and Interaction
(e.g., speech, language and communication needs; autism spectrum conditions)
Cognition and Learning
(e.g., difficulties with memory, processing, literacy or numeracy)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health
(e.g., anxiety, emotional regulation, behaviour needs)
Sensory and/or Physical Needs
(e.g., hearing or visual impairment, physical disabilities, medical needs)
Our provision is based on the Graduated Response:
Assess → Plan → Do → Review, ensuring support is tailored, monitored and regularly reviewed with families.
We believe that strong relationships with parents and carers are essential. We:
listen carefully to concerns
involve families in decision‑making
share targets and strategies
review progress together
signpost external support when needed
Children’s voices are central to our SEND practice. We encourage pupils to share their views, celebrate their strengths and help shape their own support.
