School Opening Hours 

Churcham Primary School is open, for our pupils, from 8.45am until 3.15pm from Monday – Friday (32.5 hours per week). On a Tuesday and Friday, we offer after school PE/Sports Clubs from 3.15pm – 4.15pm.

Children arrive at school at 8.45am. The gate is open and they make their way into their classrooms. Registration begins at 8.55 am. Lessons begin at 9.05am.

Morning lessons continue until 12 noon. There is a 15 minute break from 10.30 – 10.45. During the morning, lessons focus upon all aspects of English and maths. Assembly takes place at 11.45am.

Lunch is from 12 noon – 1pm.

Afternoon lessons begin, after registration, at 1.05 and school ends at 3.15pm. On a Tuesday and Friday afternoon, each class will have their PE lessons. The children in Class 1 will have a short afternoon break, the class teacher will decide on the timing of this.

Total teaching time (less registration, Worship and breaks) is 23.5 hours

KS1:

9.00am - 9.05am - Registration

9.05am - 9.30am - Lesson 1 - Phonics

9.30am - 10.30am - Lesson 2 - English/Spellings/Handwriting/RE

10.30am - 10.45am - Breaktime

10.45am - 12.00am - Lesson 3 - Maths

12.00pm - 1.00pm - Lunchtime and afternoon registration

1.00pm - 3.00pm - Lesson 4 - Art/PSHE/Tiopic/UCT/Handwriting/Music/Library/PE/Reading/Science

3.00pm - 3.15pm - Lesson 5 - Story time and show and tell  

 

KS2: 

8.45am - 8.55am - Registration

8.55am - 10.15am - Session 1 - Guided Reading/Y3 Phonic/English (Gramma and punctuation)/Spellings

10.15am - 10.30am - Breaktime

10.30am - 12.00pm - Lesson 2 - Rainbow Maths/Maths

12.00pm - 1.00pm - Lunchtime and afternoon registration

1.00pm - 3.15pm - Lesson 3 and 4 - Science/Time tables/ICT/Rading/Art/Music/D&TRE/PSHE/Handwriting
